Q1: What are the biggest wedding trends you’re seeing this year?

Heather:

This year, couples are gravitating towards bold and vibrant aesthetics. Bright, saturated colors are making a comeback, with couples opting for eye-catching palettes that make a statement. We’re also seeing a rise in destination-inspired themes, where the wedding design reflects the couple’s favorite travel destinations or cultures, incorporating elements like exotic florals, themed cocktails, and regional cuisine. Another trend is the focus on interactive entertainment—from live bands and dance performances to immersive art installations, couples are looking for ways to keep their guests entertained and engaged throughout the celebration.

Q2: What advice would you give couples when it comes to food preparation and display?

Heather:

The food you serve and design that comes with those displays of food at your wedding is such a crucial part of the overall experience, and the latest trend is all about interactive and immersive dining experiences. Think grazing tables, where guests can mingle and pick from a variety of artisanal cheeses, meats, and fresh fruits, or live stations where chefs prepare dishes in front of guests. When it comes to display, presentation is everything. Incorporate florals, candles, or even elements of the venue’s natural surroundings to tie the food display into your overall wedding theme.

Q3: Designing a wedding can be overwhelming. What’s trending in wedding design?

Heather:

Design trends are steering towards clean lines and modern elegance. Minimalist designs with a focus on high-quality materials are in. For example, couples are choosing sleek, contemporary table settings with metallic accents and luxurious linens. Bold color palettes are also trending, where one vibrant color is used to make a statement against neutral backdrops. Another popular design element is the fusion of indoor and outdoor spaces, especially in venues like Ocala Estate. By blending natural elements with refined indoor décor, couples create a seamless and stunning environment.

Q4: As a coordinator, what is one of the most important things you think couples often overlook?

Heather:

It’s SO important to have a backup plan for weddings- especially outdoor weddings; with the weather being unpredictable sometimes. I always recommend having a plan B in place to ensure that, no matter what happens, the day goes off without a hitch. Other than that, I am just encouraging of all brides to take a second and breathe. While the timeline is important, it is THEIR big day so they should just enjoy this moment instead of stressing about how strict the timeline should be.

Q5: What are some ways couples can make their wedding day more unique?

Heather:

Personalization is key to making your wedding stand out. Some unique ideas include customized welcome bags for guests with local treats or personal mementos, a signature scent for your wedding that can be diffused throughout the venue, or incorporating cultural traditions that reflect your heritage or childhood. I’ve also seen couples write personal letters to each guest, which adds an incredibly special touch. Lastly, unexpected entertainment like a live painter capturing the ceremony or a surprise performance can make your wedding unforgettable.

We are pleased to be able to share with you the insights into the latest tips and trends for all things wedding planning and design.
